Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Debra Tiffany and I am the proud mother of three grown children, a 4th grade teacher at CDSA, and a 20 year resident of Idaho. I have taught for eleven+ years, in different grades, states & countries, and to every age imaginable! After completeing my Masters Degree in Education, Integrating the Arts, I served for over two years in the Peace Corps in Barranquilla, Colombia, teaching English, tutoring, exploring, learning about the world around us, and about the world of education outside of the US. I'm priviliged to work with your eager young children and take pride in contributing to their academic journey.
I strongly believe in teaching to the entire child, and using life experience and curious exploration to supplement the text. The Arts are an integral part of my teaching style, incorporating kinesthetic, visual, and auditory instruction. I also intregrate 21st Century skills into my teaching, connecting real-life scenarios to the classroom setting, and providing practical problem solving practice to enhance the core curriculum. Cooperative learning takes place in our classroom everyday, giving children a chance to work and learn from and with their peers, which in turn strengthens our classroom community.
