Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Marcus Myers

I have had the great fortune of being your principal since 2009 at Meridian Elementary School.  I have been an educator for the past 19 years with 17 in the West Ada School District. I completed my Undergraduate Degree in Elementary Education K-8 at the University of Nevada, Reno and Boise State University.  I completed my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership K-12 at the University of Idaho. I was born to be a learner and being your Principal is truly an honor.

I believe in the power of learning and I am one member of a team of learner-leaders whose core belief is ALL students can achieve greater than proficiency. We are an amazing team of learners dedicated to EVERY student achieving greatly, every moment, of every day.  At Meridian Elementary our core beliefs center around the idea of ALL MEANS ALL.  The foundation of this belief is that ALL learners at Meridian Elementary can achieve better than average and that settling with mediocrity isn't an option.  We believe students, teachers, staff, parents, and community patrons are an integral part of this team and your input is always valued and will be requested many times throughout the year.

I am proud that Meridian Elementary has the unique distinction of being a Highly Reliable School and achieved this certification by Marzano Research, a leader in school improvement. Highly Reliable Schools, like Meridian Elementary, set goals based on research-based indicators of school improvement.  These goals are measured, communicated, strategized, and analyzed to ensure success for ALL learners at Meridian Elementary.

My door is always open.  Please don't hesitate to stop by to share your accolades, suggestions, and/or concerns.

I am the father of four school-aged children and the husband of a school counselor in the West Ada School District.  We live in Meridian and take part in many of our local events and opportunities.  I enjoy riding motorcycles, camping, spending time in Idaho's great outdoors, and traveling.
