Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome to Kindergarten! I am so excited to be your child’s Kindergarten teacher this year! I grew up in Southeastern Idaho and graduated from Idaho State University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education K-8, with a Reading/Literacy Endorsement K-12, and a math component. After teaching in Idaho for several years, I moved to Nevada for my husband’s new career, and lived there for about 12 years. During that time, I stayed home to raise my growing family, and took classes to keep my Idaho teaching credentials current. We moved to Meridian a five years ago and have absolutely loved the area and the schools for our four children, who range in ages from middle school to college age.
My teaching experiences include: teaching at a private school (1st-3rd grades), teaching at public school (1st-2nd grades), homeschooling (4th grade), teaching Sunday school (grades Kindergarten, 3rd, and 4th grades), Substitute teaching at various schools(Kindergarten-9th grades in general classrooms as well as, P. E., health, music, math, ELA, computers, PBI, ERR, and even school secretary!), and teaching Kindergarten at Hunter. During my years in Nevada, while I didn’t have a formal teaching position at an Elementary school, I continued to teach in some capacity either at home with my own children, in my children’s school as a volunteer, or teaching other women in leadership positions.
I am excited to teach Kindergarten this year and experience many new adventures! I love people of all ages and can’t wait to pour into the lives of your families and watch us grow together! This is just the beginning of wonderful things to come!
