Cheryl Fife

Hi, my name is Mrs. Fife, and I am the Librarian at Pepper Ridge Elementary.

I was born and raised in Iowa and went to college at University of California, Davis.  I raised all five of my kids in California and then lived in Washington DC for 2 years before coming to Idaho.  I am currently raising my grandson who is an 8th grader at Cole Valley Christian.  I have a teaching credential both here and in California, but being a librarian is my true passion.  I love books and sharing them with the students.  I love helping students to improve their reading skills, and seeing the light come on when they find a book they truly enjoy.

I have a very diverse educational and professional background covering technology, design, genealogy, and theatre.  Every fall, I work with a team of 5th graders on a 3-D printing project for the FabSlam Competition.  I sponsor our Idaho Battle of the Books (a reading competition) teams each year.  In the past, I have assisted with the Coding Club here at Pepper Ridge for several years, and am hoping to one day offer a drama/theatre club.

I love to travel and have visited countries all over the world including England, Honduras, Brazil and Rwanda (to name a few).

I see all the students here at Pepper Ridge from kinders to 5th graders.  I teach lessons every week in different subjects ranging from the Dewey Decimal System to robots to recycling to chocolate and everything inbetween. But no matter what the lesson is, books are always at the center of it.

I hope your children are coming home with wonderful stories about the activites completed during their library time, because I am certainly enjoying the time with your children.

Thank you for sharing them with me!
