Email is typically the best way to reach me. I am busy with students during the day, so I often check my voicemail after school.

Hello! :) My name is Alyssa Finley, and I am so excited to be teaching fourth grade at Prospect Elementary! This is my second year teaching at Prospect and my second year teaching fourth grade. I fell in love with this school's atmosphere, the staff, and most of all, the students. I am extremely excited to be back this year! I believe in creating a classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibilty, safety, challenge, and engagement. I also believe in welcoming all learners into a safe and collaborative atmosphere. I look forward to getting to know your child and working with you to ensure a successful year for your child.

Prior to my life as a teacher, I worked at St. Luke's Hospital for four years as a CNA. I am a Boise State alumni, and I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a specialized endorsement in Literacy. Go Broncos! I am an Idaho native, and I grew up in the small town of New Plymouth. It's so small that most people (even Treasure Valley natives) have never heard of it before! I grew up playing sports, and many of the people I graduated high school with are the same people I started kindergarten with. I loved the feeling I got from being raised in a small town, but I also love living in a larger city where there are endless shopping opportunities!

I recently got married last November. My husband and I like to take advantage of any time we can spend together by hiking, fishing, camping, and binge-watching our favorite Netflix and Hulu shows. One of our favorite shows to watch together is America's Got Talent. We also enjoy watching sports together - mainly football and basketball. We enjoy watching the Denver and Boise State Broncos (even though my husband is a Vandal). My favorite college basketball team is Duke, and I try really hard to never miss a game on tv! We now have a sweet chocolate lab puppy named Huck. Huck loves to cuddle, play fetch, and sun bathe in our backyard. He is growing bigger every day!

I am looking forward to a great year with you and your children!
