If students are absent for reasons than other than medical isolation, they will need to check the agenda (available in Teams and this website) to see what they have missed and contact their teacher with questions of for materials.

  • Current Status: Green-ish

As of March 29, we are in green with remote Mondays. This means all students will log into Teams for a short online class Monday morning with individual work in the afternoon. Then, Tuesday through Friday all students will be in class.

If students are isolated due to medical reasons and not able to attend school in-person, live lessons will be provided through Teams.

However, if a class period has no isolated studets, there will not be recorded lessons available online. If students are absent, they will need to check the online agenda to see what they missed and contact the teacher with questions or for missing materials.

Mrs. Kathy Graves

Hello and Welcome to GT!

I am the Gifted and Talented facilitator here at Star Middle School and teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade GT, English Language Arts. If you are not currently in this program but are interested, please contact me.  I would love to help you out.  If you have previously qualified for this program within the district, you are welcome--and encouraged-- to join us!
This is my 9th year as a GT facilitator, and my 13th year teaching ELA. I am passonate about reading and stories and the importance of being able to communicate well. I am also certified as a Gifted and Talented teacher and absolutely LOVE this group of kids. I strive to provide a classroom environment in which they are challenged and engaged in their learning process.
The other thing I am passionate about is my family. My husband and I have been married for 25 years and I am mom to four kids, 15-year-old triplets who are sophomores this year and a 17-year-old senior who all attend Mountain View High School! In order to see my kids off to school in the morning, I am on a modified teaching contract and am not here for first period. This does mean that it is difficult to catch me in the mornings. However, I am here after school. The best way to reach me is always via email @ graves.kathy@westada.org.
