Mr. Tanner Faris

Hola. Jambo. السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ. Bonjour. ሰላም. こんにちは. 你好. Xin chào. Здравствуйте.

These are some of the many ways that my students and their families say hello. My name is Tanner Faris and I am a Math teacher in the English Language and Cultural Immersion (ELCI) program. I began as a paraprofessional at LCMS in Fall 2017 and shortly after took over a full time teaching position at Centennial HS. I grew up in the small community of Elmira, just west of Eugene, Oregon. I was fortunate to have amazing, passionate teachers who inspired me to pursue a career in education.

I'm a proud graduate of the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!) and the College of Idaho. I'm passionate about the link between language and culture and I strive to promote the preservation and enrichment of our students' cultural heritage in the classroom. My beautiful wife, MJ, is a graduate of BSU's teacher education program and is currently working towards becoming a certified nurse midwife. We are joined by our little man, Moses, born August 2019. We enjoy riding bikes, making music, and serving in church responsibilities.
