Mr. Tanner Faris
Hola. Jambo. السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ. Bonjour. ሰላም. こんにちは. 你好. Xin chào. Здравствуйте.
These are some of the many ways that my students and their families say hello. My name is Tanner Faris and I am a Math teacher in the English Language and Cultural Immersion (ELCI) program. I began as a paraprofessional at LCMS in Fall 2017 and shortly after took over a full time teaching position at Centennial HS. I grew up in the small community of Elmira, just west of Eugene, Oregon. I was fortunate to have amazing, passionate teachers who inspired me to pursue a career in education.
I'm a proud graduate of the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!) and I'm currently pursuing a Masters in Bilingual Education at the College of Idaho. I'm passionate about the link between language and culture and I strive to promote the preservation and enrichment of our students' cultural heritage in the classroom. My beautiful wife, MJ, is a music teacher at Rose Hill Montessori and is also working on a degree in Elementary Education at Boise State. We enjoy riding bikes, making music, and serving in church responsibilities.
