Middle School ELA Supplemental Book Committee

  • We are reviewing proposals to the Middle School Supplementary Book List and want your input.  

    Stack of books Supplementary books are the novels, dramas, nonfiction and other trade books read in English classes that are not included in a traditional textbook. These books include such classics such as The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and more contemporary books for middle school readers such as Red KayakA district committee made up of teachers and patrons regularly reviews the list to make recommendations for new titles to be added to the list, moving titles from one grade to another and removing titles from the list.  The list up for review is for grades 6-8. 

    The committee is convening again and will meet:

    Location: Library at Heritage Middle School
    Time: 6 to 8 pm
    Dates: April 23, May 7, May 21, June 4, June 18, July 2 and July 23rd
    (The July meetings are subject to change).

    All committee meetings are open to public observation.
    Patrons are also welcome to provide public input in the comment section at the bottom of this page.  

    Beginning May 1st, the books will be on display at the District Service Center, 1303 E. Central Drive, Meridian, Idaho.
