High School ELA Supplemental Book Committee

  • We are reviewing proposals to the High School Supplementary Book List, and we want your input.

Stack of books Supplementary books are the novels, dramas, nonfiction and other trade books read in English classes that are not included in a traditional textbook. These books include such classics such as Shakespeare's Hamlet to more contemporary books such as The Princess Bride by William Goldman. A district committee made up of teachers and patrons regularly reviews the list to make recommendations for new titles to be added to the list, moving titles from one grade to another and removing titles from the list.  The list up for review is for grades 9-12.

The committee is convening again and will meet:

Location: Centennial High School Career Center
    Time: 6:30 to 8:30 pm
    Dates: May 7, May 14, May 21, May 28, June 4, June 11

All committee meetings are open to public observation.

Patrons are also welcome to provide public input in the comment section at the bottom of this page.
Comments will be shared with the committee and become part of the public record.

Below is a list of the proposals the committee is considering.
