This is my first year teaching this class, and my first year at Eagle Middle School.  I'm super excited to have the opportunity to work with 6th, 7th, and 8th graders in this capacity.  I've always been fascinated with the curriculum, but I guess it never occured to me that I'd be a perfect fit for the job.

For the past 18 years I've taught in a variety of schools and grade levels ranging from 2nd grade through middle school.  Most of my time was spent in 5th grade where I taught all subjects.  I truly loved my time in the general education classroom, but I'm even more excited to embark on this passion of mine.  I find myself wondering why I didn't make the switch a few years ago.

For most of my life I've been a crafter.  I learned to sew, crochet, knit, and just about anything else that required creative handiwork.  I've been a lifelong baker of all kinds of treats, and I find that baking is my way of expressing kindness, warmth, and love to others.  That being said, FCS is the perfect fit for me!  What could be better than sharing my passion with middle school students.  My goal is to help instill a love of these things, while providing a lifelong skill to my students.  This will be a fun, creative, and fulfilling class for everyone!

A little about me personally----I'm a mother of two daughters, a grandma to two elementary aged girls, and my third granddaughter was just born on September 20, 2018.  I'm originally from the east coast, where my dad had us traveling around with the military.  I moved out west in 1999 after graduate school to begin my teaching career.  I later moved to Idaho in 2006 and began working for the West Ada School District.  I have a lot of experience in the classroom, and I can't imagine doing anything else for a career.  I really enjoy spending time with my students.

I look forward to a fantastic first year here at Eagle!  I can't wait to meet my students, and then parents as well.
