Welcome to Remote Learning.  This temporary webpage has been created to provide basic information on:

1.  Phase descriptions (what are you expected to do remotely?)

2.  How to access materials.

3.  How to hand in completed work.

4.  When Mrs. Woods is available for students and parents.

     1.  Remote Learning:

          a.  Phase 1 is from April 13-24, 2020.  During this time the remote learning plan will focus on providing students with an opportunity to review and/or improve learning in areas previously covered between January 21, 2020 and March 13, 2020. This will be done by allowing students to hand in Missing Work and Redo prior Quarter 3 assessments.  In addition, weekly science packets are assigned that provide 20-25 min. of work daily for students to review and enrich quarter 3 learning from home.  The packets will not be collected yet a key will be provided for students to review.

          b.  Phase 2 is scheduled to begin April 27, 2020.  New learning content along with optional tasks and activities that allow for students to engage with and to reinforce the new learning. Stay tuned for more information.  

     2.  Phase 1 Materials are located on my calendar under:  Missing & Redo Work:  Week 1 Packet

Please do not ask to get your binder from the building.  Simply complete the alternate work available on my calendar or in Teams. 

     3.  Submit your completed work to me digitally through EMAIL OR TEAMS.  Allow for 24 hours (weekday) for me to acknowledge the submitted work. If you have not heard back within 24 hrs M-F please email again to confirm receipt.

Physical copies:

For those of you who requested a hard copy of the learning packet, those materials will be available on Monday’s, and Tuesday’s from 8:00-4:00 in front of Star Middle School. There will be a filing cabinet located by the front entrance, all drawers will be labeled by grade level.

Inside the drawer will be folders with student names on them, please grab only the packet that pertains to your student and leave the folder with the student’s name in the filing cabinet. There are extra copies in the filing cabinet, if you don't see the student’s name on one of the folders. If you would like to add a student folder, email our Dean of Students, Jake Kangas at kangas.jacob@westada.org

Note: If accessing information electronically it is not necessary to print the packets.  Please feel free to print packets at your choice, some files are larger than others and work can be done on other methods ie... (notebooks, white boards, etc..). This information is posted under our remote learning section for enhanced learning opportunities starting April 12th.

     4.  I am available M-F 1:00-2:30 pm.  Please note this time has been reserved for student and parent questions so I may not answer your emails until this time.
