Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Jennifer Livesey

Hello there,

I feel very excited and lucky to be part of the great community at Victory!  There is such a lovely feeling of positivity and authenticity within the school.  This year, I am teaching 7th grade ELA, Literacy Labs for 6th and 7th graders, and the AVID elective for 7th and 8th graders. This will be my fourth year at Victory, and we have seen so many changes (especially in the last year...) What has remained the same is the awe-inspiring capacity for learning and growing that middle school students have which makes being a teacher the best job in the world. I have lived all up and down the West Coast and have been in Boise for about four years; I can now safely say it is one of my favorite places.  When I am not working I love to read, bake (and imagine I’m practicing to be on the Great British Bake Off), hike, find new places to see and new coffee to drink, and hang out with my family.

Some of my all-time favorite books:

Nine Stories by J.D. Salinger, the Harry Potter series, the Wrinkle in Time series (really anything by Madeleine L’Engle), Housekeeping by Marilynne Robinson, East of Eden by John Steinbeck, Wildwood by Colin Meloy, Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card, The Warmth of Other Suns by Isabel Wilkerson, Being Mortal by Atul Gawande,  Puddin’ by Julie Murphy, Smile and Ghosts by Raina Telgemeier, and the Monk of Mokha by Dave Eggers.

Please write or phone with any questions; I would love to hear from you! Once the school year begins, you can find information about your specific class within the Class Notebook (found in OneNote, and accessible through the your class Teams page).
