Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Jessica Layton
I am Jessica Layton, the Extended Resource Room Teacher at Prospect Elementary. This is my 5th year in eduacation and 3rd year teaching.
I attended Boise State University for 3 years, and received my bachelor's in exercise science. During this time, I took a class that truly changed my life. It was an adapted physical education course working with students attending Boise State who had disabilities. I had the amazing opportunity to run an obstacle course workout class and a swimming class for the students. I learned so much and devloped a large place in my heart for special populations. I worked as a paraprofessional at Peregrine Elementary for two years while I earned my teaching certificate. I worked as an ERR teacher at Sage Valley Middle school for 2 years before making the move back to Meridian and accepting the job here at Prospect.
I grew up in Paul, ID. I lived in that area for 16 years, participating in every sport and musical event I could. Starting at age 10, I joined a year round swim team and loved it! I now live in Meridian with my two dogs, Luke and Jack. My other interests include reading fiction books, going on walks, playing and watching sports, and travel. My attached picture is of myself in Orvieto, Italy.
