Mrs. Tiffany Brown

Welcome to the River Valley Health Office page! My name is Tiffany Brown and I am so excited to be here at River Valley this year. Since 2005, I have been a proud member of a district-wide team of registered school nurses joining hand in hand with our school teams to apply evidence-based science to promote health and wellness to children and families. I spend part of my day in the building helping students and the other part of my day I get the privilege of assisting my colleagues in providing individualized written plans for some of the most complex needs of our students.

I graduated from Northwest Nazarene University with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2003. I’ve worked in a variety of setting including neurology, orthopedics, home health and hospice and my most favorite- School Nursing! I love that every day brings me something different and a chance to use my assessment and critical thinking skills to best care for the wonderful students of our district. While I enjoy the day to day walk in traffic I see, I absolutely love the relationships and time I get to spend with kiddos that have chronic illnesses. I love empowering a student to be able to better care for themselves and be as successful as they can in the educational environment. As the sole provider of healthcare in the school setting my goal is to keep all children healthy, safe and ready to learn.  Through the science of nursing, I strive to improve the well-being, safety, academic success and health of all students.

I have three amazing children ages 20, 10 and 7. I enjoy spending time with my kiddos, being involved in 4H, cycling and the gym. I look forward to working with you to help your child stay safe and healthy while at school. If I can be of any assistance please contact me at brown.tiffany@westada.org or 208-350-4295.

What does a school nurse do anyway?

After being a school nurse for 10 years, I can tell you that a school nurse does way more than put bandaids on cuts/scrapes :)  If you would like to hear more about what a school nurse does in the schools....please ask me!  I would be happy to discuss this amazingly diverse and rewarding career path as a nurse.  If you want even more information, please visit the National Association of School Nurse's website at:  The Role of the 21st Century School Nurse
