    Students do NOT need a physical to participate in summer activities. Physicals will be needed for fall participation but NOT for summer.

  • Warrior XC Summer 2020 Info... what you need to know

    I’m really excited to get things going and looking forward to an amazing year of MHS XC!  Especially this year since we have been extra cooped up.  Please read all of the info below.  If you have any other questions please email me at mccrea.russell@westada.org or text/call me at 208-631-8814

    Summer Training Schedule:

    As per WestAda guidelines we will not be having a summer camp this year.  

    Optional summer training will begin on Tuesday June 9th and will be on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Tuesday runs will mostly be in the evening away from school and Thursdays we will be playing ultimate frisbee at a nearby park.  Time TBD.  This may change, but if it does it will be posted on the “Meridian High School Cross Country” Facebook page and this page.  Check this page 24 hours before runs to make sure we didn't have to cancel.  I will try to keep runs within 20 minutes of the school most Tuesdays and Saturdays but do want to take advantage of some of the great trails we have around Boise.

    Tracking Summer Running

    We have some big goals this year and the best way to make big gains is to run consistently.  We are going to reward athletes who document 40 or more runs (20+minutes) this summer... this is averaging just a little under 5 runs per week during the summer.  All who document this will receive a brand new Brooks Beanie Embroidered with Team logo.  We will post a fillable calendar here soon.

    Pseudo-Summer Camp

    Beginning in June we will have four destination runs that will take up about 4 hours total from the time you leave to the time you get home.  This will culminate with a day camp at the location where we usually have our summer camp.  Locations and Days are TBD but will be posted soon with descriptions of the runs.  

    The first day of Practice is August 10th!!! Be strong and ready for a great XC Season!
