    National Honor Society is a student-run organization that values character, scholarship, leadership and service. Members in good standing must maintain a 3.6 or higher cumulative GPA and complete 30 hours of community service each school year.
    The Meridian High NHS chapter extends membership invitations to any sophomore, junior, or senior who meets the minimum GPA requirement. From there, interested students must complete an application with a brief statement of interest and receive a positive teacher recommendation (about the student's character, scholarship, leadership, and service attributes) before being invited to attend the new member induction ceremony. The induction ceremony is held mid-semester in the fall.
    Any questions can be directed to Mrs. Heather Smith at Students at MHS can come ask questions in room 223.

  • Our chapter will soon issue membership invitations to all sophomores with at least a 3.6 cumulative GPA.


    If you are a junior or senior who meets this grade criteria and is interested in becoming an NHS member, please come see Mrs. Smith in room 223.


    Membership invitation letters will be delivered during the week of September 30 - October 4. If it's past October 4 and you meet the GPA criteria but haven't received an invitation letter, please come see Mrs. Smith in room 223.


    New member induction ceremony is Thursday, November 7 at 7:00 p.m. in the South Cafeteria of MHS.
