Ms. Stephanie Meyet

Dear Students and Families,

I am so excited to welcome you to second grade!  Second grade is a very important year for you.  Our class will be learning about many exciting things this year.  We will be exploring animals, plants, erosion, and weather in science; creating visual art throughout our investigations; developing fantastic math strategies for addition and subtraction; and reading and writing about so many interesting topics. Most importantly, we will be building our learning muscles; learning how to question, analyze, collaborate, and communicate while we grow together.

I believe in fostering a close classroom community and creating a safe place. We learn, grow, make mistakes and try new things in second grade. I will work with you to build a growth mindset classroom with many arts integrated learning experiences.

I look forward to getting to know each of you at our Meet the Teacher night before school starts. You are invited to bring a grown up to check out our classroom, drop off supplies, and meet me on Wednesday August 25 from 4:30-5:30.

Before we meet, I thought you may want to know a few things about me: This is my third year teaching second grade. My husband and I have four children and two of them attend school at Pioneer. As a family we love to play in the river, have dance parties, and go hiking. Some of my favorite things to do include; rock climbing, playing piano, trying a new restaurant, playing games, and reading a great book.

I am looking forward to our year in second grade together. It will be a year of growth, challenge, and building community. Our classroom motto is 'We can do hard things!'. I am excited to learn and grow with you. I can't wait to meet you!

Ms. Meyet
