Degrees and Certifications:
2019/2020 will be my first year at Renaissance and my ninth year teaching. I am new to Idaho having taught last year in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area of Minnesota and in the Madison, Wisconsin area for six years prior to that. My wife, Cari, is a potato geneticist, and she decided to take a job in the big leagues of the potato world in Boise last spring.
I have taught a lot of different courses so far in my career, including AP US History, AP Macro and Microeconomics, Social Problems, Econ & Poli Sci, and Law. I am excited for the opportunity to teach Honors US History, American Government, and IB History of the Americas this year.
I received my Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences/Secondary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2010, and completed my Master's degree in Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2018 (Go Badgers!/On Wisconsin/Jump Around/etc.)
I am looking forward to being a member of the Renaissance community! Outside (and sometimes inside) of school, I enjoy playing guitar, watching horror movies, exercising, true crime documentaries, and discussing sports like I'm an expert even though I have never played professionally and never will.
