Degrees and Certifications:

2021/2022 will be my third year at Renaissance and my ELEVENTH year teaching. I am pretty new to Idaho having moved from the Minneapolis-St. Paul area of Minnesota in 2019. I taught for one year in Minnesota but am originally from the Madison, Wisconsin area where I taught at Waunakee High School for six years. My wife, Cari, is a potato geneticist, and she decided to take a job in the big leagues of the potato world in Boise in the spring of 2019.
I have taught a lot of different courses so far in my career, including AP US History, AP Macro and Microeconomics, Social Problems, Econ & Poli Sci, and Law. I am excited for the opportunity to teach Honors US History, Theory of Knowledge, and IB History of the Americas this year.
I received my Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences/Secondary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2010, and completed my Master's degree in Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2018 (Go Badgers!/On Wisconsin/Jump Around/etc.)
I love being a member of the Renaissance community! Outside (and sometimes inside) of school, I enjoy playing guitar, watching horror movies, exercising, true crime documentaries, and discussing sports like I'm an expert even though I have never played professionally and never will.
