Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Linn Woodard
Welcome to Meridian Middle School 6th Grade Math and Accelerated Math, and 6th & 8th Grade Physical Education!
I love teaching here at MMS. This will be my 22nd year in education. After graduating with my teaching credential from Point Loma Nazarene University, I jumped right into the classroom where I've spent the last 22 years teaching students of all kinds in settings of all sorts. From multi-grade to single grade classrooms, all subjects to Math specialist, Gifted/Talented to Special Ed, brick-and-mortar to homeschooling to charter schools, I've enjoyed them all. I was honored to be awarded Teacher of the Year for my school in 2003. When my oldest son was born, I spent 9 years at home with my biological and foster children, two of whom are designated Gifted/Talented and three of whom struggle in school for various academic and emotional reasons. Please know that whatever your concerns and struggles, whether you're a student or a parent, I am here to support you. The experience I have gained over the years as a parent, foster parent, and educator are integral to the philosophy of education that I have today.
On a personal note, I have been married for 20 years and have kids from 4th grade up to college. This year I happen to have a 6th grader and 8th grader of my own so I understand where you're at on a personal level! Our family loves being outdoors camping, hiking (the adults love it more than the kids), spending winters at Bogus Basin (skiing for the parents, snowboarding for the kids), summers floating the Boise and Payette Rivers, and taking in all the beauty of our country on road trips. When I manage to find any time alone, I love reading, cooking, quilting, art, and taking care of our chickens and goats.
I look forward to suuporting my students on their journey through the year at MMS! Please contact me anytime if you have any questions or concerns.
