Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Samantha Stanley
Welcome to 3rd Grade at Discovery Elementary. My name is Samantha Stanley. I look forward to getting to know you and your child. This is a very important year in your child’s life, and my mission is to foster the social and emotional growth of your child while nurturing his/her positive self-concept. I will create a risk free environment for your child to feel safe in. I will help your child become a lifelong learner as well as a caring member of our society.
The first couple of weeks will be spent getting to know each other. We will also be learning the classroom routines and rules. Please read and write with your child daily. It is important that we work together to help your child develop an interest in his/her education. Please ask your child about his/her day and reinforce what we learn in the classroom at home. Your involvement and supports means a great deal in your child’s success. Let’s work together to help your child reach his/her full potential.
I feel that our classroom does not exist in isolation. I strongly believe that working in concert with families, school administration, and community members, each school and each student can achieve great things. At Discovery students are the center of our purpose and to them our district pours its energy and resources so that each child can have the best educational experience possible.
I would also like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself. This is my first year teaching at Discovery Elementary. Last year I taught 2nd Grade at Frontier Elementary. The five years prior to that I was a Kindergarten teacher in Flat Rock, Michigan. I graduated with my B.A. in April 2014 from Eastern Michigan University with a minor in early Childhood Education.
