Degrees and Certifications:
Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education K-8
My name is Melissa Freese. I graduated from Boise State University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education K-8. At the beginning of my teaching career, I taught 2nd grade at Linder Elementary School and K, 1, 2 grades at Chaparral Elementary School. Later I was able to be a stay at home mom with my children. During the time I was at home I was a proctor with West Ada School District for the Idaho Reading Indicator. I taught 6 years of preschool. 4 of those years I was an extended day academic Pre-K teacher. Prior to being on staff at Ponderosa, I facilitated incoming preschool-aged students through the "Ready to Learn" program sponsored by West Ada School District at McMillan Elementary, Peregrine Elementary, and Desert Sage Elementary.
I am a native Idahoan. In high school, I was a "Lionette" on my school's dance team. I love cooking, baking, cake decorating, reading, exercising, teaching, home decor, spending time with my family & friends, and traveling when I have an opportunity. My favorite colors are red & pink. Roses are my best-loved flowers. I love dark chocolate and Goldendoodles. My Goldendoodle's name is Lucy. I also have 2 black cats named Charlie and Knight.
It is a passion of mine to make students feel safe, welcomed, and help them progress to the next level to the best of their ability.
