Fire Services Pathway

  • The Fire Services program offers students an awesome opportunity to dive into a career as a first responder.  A strong partnership between Meridian Fire Department and Nampa Fire Department allows students to actively participate in community service events and field experiences through off-campus externships.  Students who advance to Fire I & II will have the opportunity to participate in monthly ride-alongs, simulation drills to sharpen their knowledge and skillset, using official firefighting protection equipement, vehicles and tools.

    Pathway Course Sequence:

    • Orientation to Police, Fire, & Emergency Services
      10th grade, semester class
    • Fire Service I
      11th grade, full year class 
    • Fire Service II
      12th grade, full year class

Jump Start Your Career!

  • Students looking to pursue a firefighting career have the option to take the Fire Services EMT pathway.  By adding the EMT Basic course into their 12th grade year, this pathway will result in an EMT certification, which is highly desirable when seeking employment.  In addition, when selecting the Fire Services EMT pathway, students have the option to earn technical college credits, granted through the College of Southern Idaho.  To receive these credits, students will need to complete the full EMT pathway as well as the Fire Services pathway.

    • Health Professions A & B
      10th grade
    • Fire Service I
    • Medical Terminology
      11th grade
    • Fire Service II
    • EMT Basic
      12th grade



CTE Center- Renaissance Campus

  • The Fire Service program creates an unique academic experience for students in the pathway.  Students will travel to CTE Center- Renaissance Campus to complete this pathway.   

    The CTE Center-Renaissance Campus is located on the Renaissance High School campus, in Meridian, Idaho.  This campus features a state of the art career technical facility, housing numerous CTE programs as well as serving students as a School of Choice High School that focuses on academic rigor and college readiness.
