Mr. Ivan Peterson - Social Studies

Welcome, I am a Treasure Valley native that grew up on a mink ranch in Star and graduated from Meridian High School in 1983.  I went to the University of Idaho where I studied and taught for 25+ years.

I have been with the West Ada School district since the fall of 2014 and enjoy teaching in the online environment.

I believe that for Social Studies is about teaching us to be better problem solvers. Ultimately, we study the past to help us understand the present and predict the future with greater accuracy and thus have more control over our lives.

I am also active with the Idaho State Historical Society and teach rapier. I compete nationally in various rapier and longsword tournaments.

My favorite hobbies involve my family, Bicycling, Karate, Gymnastics, and games.

Currently my favorite games are “Munchkin-Zombies or Munchkin -Superheroes”, “King of New York”, “Settlers of Catan”. My kids have recently discovered “Magic the gathering”

I look forward to helping you, and or your child achieve your goals. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
