I will be Mrs. Latorre's long-term sub while she is out on maternity leave through Novemeber 12th. I'm very excited to be working with your students until she returns!


PowerSchool will be updated weekly.  If you have questions, don't hesitate to email.

Any assignment with an extended due date will be posted on the calendar; otherwise, assignments are due the next school day.


This course focuses on reading strategies such as summarizing, gathering context clues, using text evidence to support concepts, and vocabulary. It also focuses on comprehension skills such as inferencing, fluency, and elements of literature. Students will read from various genres such as poetry, prose, and dramas.


Grades will be weighted based upon the following categories and percentage of final grade:

7th Grade Reading and Writing

This is my ninth year of teaching at LCMS. My website will be updated regularly throughout the year and will contain due dates and links to assignments. I will update our PowerSchool gradebook weekly as assignments are collected.

I will be on maternity leave until mid-November and look forward to meeting your child when I return! Sarah Ryan will be my long-term substitute during this time.
