The March 2015 bond projects are on track to open as scheduled. The projects include Victory Middle School and Hillsdale Elementary Schools, which will open this fall. Victory will relieve the overcrowding at Lake Hazel Middle School, which ended last year with a capacity of 1000 students and enrollment at nearly 1500. Hillsdale will relieve the overcrowding at both Mary McPherson Elementary and Siena Elementary.
The two other projects included in the bond - Meridian High's remodel and Star Middle School - are also both on track to open on time. Meridian will be complete for the fall of 2017, when high school attendance areas will help reduce the overcrowding at Rocky Mountain and Mountain View High Schools. Star Middle School will open fall 2018 and will help with the overcrowding at Eagle Middle School.
The total amount voters approved for the bond projects was $96 million. To date, the total cost of the projects is estimated to come in $5,698,863 under the estimated costs. After all projects are done, the final amount under estimates will be used to complete another capital project.
