New Rebound Student Pantry Receives Donation from Local Business

May 16, 2018 – Several students a week visit the new Rebound Student Pantry available at Rebound School of Opportunity, a place where students can pick up basic household necessities and hygiene products. Thanks to a donation from Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial, the pantry is stocked for the rest of this school year.

“I would say several students a week get their basic household items and hygiene items from the pantry,” Kelbie U’Ren, school counselor shares. “Most of our students who access it are students who are considered unaccompanied youth.”

The pantry, opened this past winter, is organized by school staff and students so those in need may pick up the basic household necessities and hygiene products they need to make getting to school a little easier. Products in the pantry include such items as laundry detergent, paper goods, hair care products, feminine hygiene products, and cosmetics.

All school counselors and social workers have access to the pantry for students or families in need of immediate support.
