Statement on Recent CDC Guidance

July 27, 2021 - The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recently released guidance on preventing the spread of COVID-19. West Ada School District's (WASD) pandemic operating plan does not change following the release of these recommendations.

WASD's comprehensive pandemic operating plan keeps schools safe. This plan includes multiple layers of infection prevention strategies along with the review of local data when making operational decisions. It is flexible and takes into consideration national and local health guidance like that released by the CDC and AAP.

In June, WASD's Board of Trustees gave the superintendent authority to make operational decisions for mitigating the spread of COVID-19. This authority includes but is not limited to implementing a mask requirement and/or transitioning a school, classroom or program into a hybrid or remote learning model. School operational decisions are based upon an in-depth review of the situation in each school, classroom or program.

The 2020-21 Pandemic Plan has been replaced with the 21-22 Fall Return to In-Person Instruction Plan
