7th grader Mary Teel wins 3rd place CapEd Trailer Contest

On March 11, 2020, our amazing seventh grader Mary Teel won third place at Overland Park Cinemas beating out at least 17 other highly competitive middle school filmmakers during the 10th Year Idaho CapEd Trailer Contest. Surrounded by many VMS peers, family and community members, the judges handed her a $150 check for her efforts in her "Dark World" animation.  Her next step is to compete in the Kiwanis Teen Film Festival with her VMS peers and see how the trailer is received there.

Her filmmaking teacher, Ms. Cornell, is eternally grateful to Idaho CapEd Credit Union for allowing middle school students to compete these last two years in this contest. With six VMS middle school showings out of the top ten chosen by CapEd selected professional media judges, she believes VMS filmmakers are ready for any challenge and is appreciative of all of her students' efforts.
