You Should Join Track and Field for Fun Activities and Endless Possibilities

     I did track and field last year for Eagle Middle School; it was a fun time and I really enjoyed it. Not only did I have a lot of fun and met a lot of new friends, but I also got a lot of physical and mental benefits out of it as well. I have 3 very important reasons that you should join track!

          It starts on March 18th and all you have to do to join is turn in forms and have a parent sign them. You will also be charged an athletic fee which will either be 90 dollars or 110 dollars. The track club is for EMS students only (unless you go to a charter school or are home schooled) and practice is held every day at 3:15. There are no tryouts, and anyone can participate in anything with the exception of needing a certain speed for relays.

          Number one, physical benefits. Track and field helps you get into shape, whether it is losing much unwanted weight, or gaining extremely important muscle, track does it all! You can also gain many useful techniques that can very much improve your running, throwing, or jumping career. Second, there is just so much variety, and people are allowed to do way more than just running. Just to name a few, you can do long jump, high jump, triple jump, discus, shotput, 100-meter, 200-meter, 400-meter, 1600-meter, and the list goes on. My last reason that you need to join the track and field team is that it feels good to be on a team. Being on a team improves important values such as work ethic and morale. You learn how to work on a team, or if your hurt then even just to cheer on a teammate.

          To conclude, I think that you should join the track and field team. There are so many different reasons that I didn’t get a chance to list that are very valid as well. It is fun, good for you, and there is a wide variety of events.
