The purpose of this study was to understand how physical education teachers teach responsibility and sportsmanship. Physical education teachers can play a crucial role in promoting personal responsibility and sportsmanship among students, yet we have little understanding of what teachers exactly do and say to develop students’ sportsmanlike attitudes and behaviors. Information from the study will enhance understanding of this phenomenon and suggest ways to create positive experiences for all youth.
