The classical music department at Idaho Fine Arts Academy embraces a philosophy that music in a smaller setting deeply enhances the ensemble skills, technical ability, and general musicianship of our students. The classical department typically consists of violin, viola, cello, bass, and piano students but we are happy to accept wind and brass students as well, so long as they are able to read music and wish to participate in classical chamber ensembles. We also encourage our classical instrumental students to embrace musical composition, creativity, improvisation, and the exploration of other musical genres. We are always looking for highly motivated students who are seeking a rigorous training environment, may choose to study music in college, and even one day become professional musicians. IFAA provides students with the unique opportunity to perform solos, duos, string quartets, piano quintets and chamber orchestra repertoire. The students also work on scales and sight reading exercises which has a significant impact on their development.
Our goal at IFAA is to create well rounded, dedicated, and inspired students and help them become the best musicians they can be. If you are a classical musician of any instrument, we highly encourage you to sign up for an audition. We look forward to hearing you!
