National Honor Society

Selection Process:
All 10th- and 11th-grade students who have a 3.7 cumulative or above are invited to apply. Invitations will be given to sophomores during February/March. Students complete an application that includes teacher recommendations, an essay, leadership history, etc. A panel of teachers reviews the applications to determine which students will be invited to join. A new member induction ceremony is held in April for those receiving invitations.

Membership Responsibilities:
NHS members attend a monthly meeting and are expected to represent the school with the highest standards possible. They must also complete 10 hours of individual community service hours and 10 hours of club community service hours. At graduation, members who have maintained good standing receive a special seal on their diploma, wear a special cord and pin, and have their name listed as an NHS member in the graduation program.
