USAD Academic Decathlon

Calling all RHS trivia nerds! Academic Decathlon is all about “daring to push your limits, to master college-level material and to practice skills, like public speaking, that might be wholly new to you. It’s about the people you’ll meet along the way—the coaches who will mentor you, the competitors who will challenge you, and the teammates who will become your lifelong friends.”

 

This year’s Curricular Theme and Topics: The American Revolution and the New Nation

  • ART: Early American art.

  • ECONOMICS: Fundamental economic concepts, microeconomics, and macroeconomics and will include a thematic section on colonial and early American economic history.

  • LITERATURE: Wieland; or, The Transformation, An American Tale by Charles Brockden Brown and selected shorter works.

  • MATHEMATICS: Algebra and trigonometry.

  • MUSIC: An introduction to early American music.

  • SCIENCE: An introduction to chemistry and will include brief discussions of significant advancements made in chemistry during the last half of the eighteenth century and the early nineteenth century.

  • SOCIAL SCIENCE: The American Revolution and the founding of the United States of America.

All class materials and assignments are distributed via Microsoft Teams.
