| | SAFETY ALERT - TIKTOK CHROMEBOOK CHALLENGEYesterday our district sent out a communication to inform families about a dangerous trend circulating on TikTok called the Chromebook Challenge (click here to read the full district email).
The challenge involves inserting objects into the charging or USB ports of Chromebooks which can cause the device to short circuit, smoke, spark, catch fire, or possibly explode.
At CMS, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Actions like this potentially put all who are in our building at risk. Because of this, any student found engaging in this type of behavior will face disciplinary consequences, including being referred to our School's Resource Office, Officer Sunada, for potential legal charges.
Involving law enforcement is never our first choice when responding to student behavior. However, due to the seriousness of the potential damage this type of action can cause, we believe this situation warrants such a response in order to help maintain a safe and secure environment for our community.
Students engaging in this behavior outside of school who cause damage to their device may also be referred to Office Sunada, and face other additional consequences.
Thank you for your help in keeping our school safe. If you have questions or would like to discuss this matter further please don't hesitate to reach out (mura.matthew@westada.org , 208-855-4276). | | CMS LOST & FOUND - Repeat InformationWe currently have a number of items displayed on our lost and found tables. Lost items will be available for students until the end of the school year.
Click here for pictures of the items that are currently displayed.
If you notice an item that is your child's, encourage them to grab it off the lost and found table, or email me at mura.matthew@westada.org with the name of your student and a brief description of the item on the table, and we will help make sure your child gets the item that is theirs. | | 8th GRADE THEATRE PRODUCTION, FRIDAY MAY 16th AT 1:30 (UPDATED START TIME)8th grade theatre students are excited to present, And Then There Was One, Too - Another Spoof, a play by Mike Druce.
This performance is open to be attended by parents and families. If attending, please check-in at the office. Once checked in, we will have you wait in our library until we have our gym prepared, then we will bring you down for the show. | | END OF YEAR - Repeat InforamtionIf you know your child's last day of school will be earlier than the official last day of school (Friday 5/23) please let us know in advance.
