🎃 Dress-Up and Halloween Costume Guidelines
Costume Expectations
Costumes must be school-appropriate and comfortable enough for a full day of learning and play.
Students must be able to dress themselves for unassisted restroom use.
No latex materials.
Please avoid costumes that are revealing or contain inappropriate language or images.
Students should be able to move easily, sit at their desks, and participate in regular school activities while in costume.
Safety & Props
No props, accessories or attachments that may get lost.
No weapon-like accessories (toy swords, guns, knives, sticks, etc.).
No blood, gore, or scary costumes that might frighten younger students.
No masks or face coverings.
Face paint is acceptable if it allows staff to easily recognize the student’s face.
No inflatable or oversized costumes, as they can be distracting or block hallways.
Practical Tips
Unless otherwise directed by the teacher, students may arrive at school in costume.
Teachers may ask students to remove accessories or parts of a costume during class time if needed for safety or learning.
Costumes must follow the school dress code. Regular clothing should be worn underneath if necessary for comfort or P.E.
Respect & Inclusion
Costumes should be respectful of all cultures, identities, and backgrounds.
Please avoid costumes that represent or stereotype groups of people or cultures.
Our goal is to ensure every student feels included and comfortable during the celebration.
