Experience Survey Goals

Thank you for taking the time to complete the Experience Survey in November. Over the past several months, we have met with students, families, and staff to carefully review the results, celebrate our strengths, and identify meaningful experience driven goals directly aligned to your feedback.

In response, we have established the following goals:

  • Parent Experience Survey Goal: I receive positive phone calls, emails, or notes about my child from school: Joplin staff will celebrate students on the learner powers with daily cards and verbal praise. Joplin staff increase positive feedback (academic or social) to families via acknowledgement system.

  • Student Experience Survey Goal: I feel students are nice or show respect to each other at my school:  Mrs. Law (School counselor) will teach all students how to navigate social situations using Kelso's Wheel.  Additionally, a school staff member and student leaders will help present ideas during weekly Friday Flag meetings.

  • Staff Experience Survey Goal:  I feel that district culture supports open and honest communication: Joplin staff attend monthly “no-agenda” meetings to discuss topics raised by staff while also celebrating one another!

These goals will intentionally guide our focus on engagement now through the beginning of 2027. We are committed to measurable progress and will provide updates along the way so you can see the impact of this work. We look forward to reflecting on our growth in the 2026 survey cycle.

With appreciation,

Justine Burgess
