Kanghyeon Bae, a freshman, was named Idaho’s first-place winner in America250’s 2025 nationwide student contest, America’s Field Trip.
The competition, which drew thousands of entries from across the U.S. and its territories, asked students to share “What does America mean to you?” through writing or artwork. As one of only 75 first-place awardees, Kanghyeon traveled to Washington, D.C. and Virginia for a unique, history-rich field trip that went beyond traditional sightseeing. This recognition highlights both his achievement and the importance of engaging students in the stories and values that shape our nation as it approaches its 250th anniversary.
