Graduation Ceremony - Class of 2025

When : Tuesday, May 20th at 4:00 PM

Where: Idaho Central Arena

Hello Soon-to-Be Graduates of Rocky Mountain (and Families),

We are just little over A WEEK away from celebrating your high school graduation! Your commencement ceremony will take place on Tuesday, May 20th, at 4:00 PM at Idaho Central Arena in Downtown Boise.

This email contains important details and deadlines to help you navigate the final week leading up to graduation. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mr. Ty Schmidt at schmidt.ty@westada.org.

Upcoming Deadlines & Key Dates (Updated 5/9/25)

Any seniors who did not pick up their cap and gown can pick it up in the front office between classes during the school day.

Graduation Ticket Pick Up

There are still a few tickets that have not been picked up. If you have not already picked up your graduation tickets, parents/guardians, please stop by the security office in front of Rocky Mountain to pick those up ASAP

·                     An ID will be required to pick up tickets and must be signed out by the parent/guardian of the student graduating.

·                     Tickets are non-replaceable and no additional or duplicate tickets will be issued

·                     There will be no more requests for more tickets.

·                     Cords and pins may be handed out at this time as well.

May 12th/13th - Grad Walks at the Elementary

·                     Link to times and dates for all elementary grad walks.

May 16th – Graduation Practice at RMHS (1st & 2nd Periods) REQUIRED

  • Seniors will report to 1st period for attendance before heading to the cafeteria. If a senior does not have a first period on B days, please be in the gym no later than 7:55 AM.

  • Graduates will practice their lineup, walking order, and seating arrangements for the ceremony.

May 19th – Makeup Graduation Practice (for excused absences only) 9 AM in the Library

  • If a graduate cannot attend practice on May 16th due to a State event or an unforeseen circumstance, they must meet with Mr. Schmidt on May 19th at 9 am in the library  to review the ceremony details.

  • Please email Mr. Schmidt that you will not make the 16th graduation practice and the reason why so he is aware of what students will be missing from practice. 

May 20th – Graduation Day! 🎓

  • Ceremony Time: 4:00 PM

  • Location: Idaho Central Arena, Downtown Boise

  • NEW THIS YEAR – Graduation Programs will be digital. More information to come as we get closer to May 20th.

  • Graduates will need to be at the arena at 3 PM.

  • More details regarding arrival times, parking, and logistics will be sent out as the date approaches.

May 21st – 23rd – Diploma Pick-Up at RMHS

  • Graduates will receive only their diploma cover at the ceremony.

  • To collect their actual diploma, students must visit RMHS between May 21st-23rd during school hours.

  • All outstanding fees and fines must be paid before diplomas can be released.

Note from the Library

Seniors, graduation is almost here!  Please read this ENTIRE post regarding the items on your library account.

All library books and novels that were checked out for English class are due by May 9th.

Textbooks and calculators are due on May 15th, but you are encouraged to turn them in as soon as you no longer need them.

Laptops and chargers are due on May 15th, but you may turn them in as soon as you no longer need them.  You will bring them to the library for check-in and then complete a device inspection in the tech office. There will be designated times on the 15th to turn them in if you choose to keep them until the last day.

All fines need to be paid prior to graduation.  Students with fines on their account will not be able to pick up their diploma until their account is clear.  

I encourage you to take care of any lost book/tech fines as soon as possible.

Your due dates may look different from the information in this email. You don't need to email me about that, just use the information above to determine when to return your items.

If you have read this far, congratulations! You are ready to begin adulting. But, seriously, we are proud of you and we will miss you. Now get your things turned in!
