Playground option 1 flyer

Update on the playground improvements slated to be taking place in the coming months.

First, the large playground as shown on the renderings on the construction fence is moving forward. As you know, the Office of Civil Rights (OCR) has been involved in ensuring that it is fully accessible for all students. West Ada School District continues to work with the OCR to ensure the facility meets the needs of all our students. We are all anxiously awaiting the equipment's arrival and are prepared to start installation soon after.

Second, the PTA raised approximately $100,000 for accessible play equipment. Several weeks ago, the PTA voted on accessible play equipment for all students. This includes two permanent gaga ball pits, a 9 square in the air, and a climbing structure. An architect has been hired to determine the best placement of these structures. Once the architect has been able to study all of the slopes in detail, they will draft a design and will meet with the PTA Board, teachers, and the school district to make a final location determination. As soon as this process is completed, we will share our plans through the parent newsletter. This is exciting, and we cannot wait!
