🦅🌎 Spalding's Earthy Day Assembly included poems from each grade level, special performances from our Honors Choir, and a presentation from our Garden Committee. Thank you Mrs. Coombs, Mrs. Magee, and Garden Committee for making our 1st annual assembly amazing!

🦅🦷Kindergartners had some special visitors show up at Spalding. The Tooth Fairy and Big Tooth came to teach them about taking care of their teeth. They received a baggie of dental care products to take home.
🦅🪩Westy hosted a dance party with bubbles and popsicles for Spalding students last Friday. This was a reward to Spalding students for placing 2nd in the Hoops for Hunger contest. Go, Eagles!

🦅🍊Kindergartners have ZEST! They all showed up on April 13th. Mrs Hampton bought them cuties and squishies. Thanks, Parents, for getting your kids to school 📚💯

🦅🌱The Spalding Garden Crew is excited that it is finally Spring!
In March, many students visited the garden to plant seeds, move compost, water plants, and pull weeds. We also welcomed some amazing families and volunteers who helped prep garden beds and wake them up after their long sleep in winter.
We hope to see you at our next after school event on April 7th!

🦅💰🐉 These "SOAR"ing dragons scratched our school $324 yesterday at the annual Scratch for Schools event hosted by the Idaho Lottery. Thank you Mrs. Cross, Mrs. Rosen, and Mrs. Coombs for taking time to scratch for us!

🦅👕 Lost & Found will be donated after school Friday, March 27.

🦅📚 Spalding celebrated the top readers from the Read Week reading competition by having the first ever school parade! It was so fun to cheer on our friends who read the most minutes from each grade level. The top reader in the school is Evelyn from Mrs. Rosen's 4th grade class. She had the honor to carry the torch leading the procession. Way to go, Eagles!

🦅🌱Last week, the Spalding Garden welcomed three 2nd grade classes for our first Winter Sowing Lesson! We discussed how seeds are sleepy in winter, we moved our bodies with plant yoga, explained how a greenhouse works, and even talked about how Earth's atmosphere serves as a greenhouse for all life on our planet! We now have 50 "upcycled" containers lined up along the garden fence that will hopefully "wake up" our sleepy seeds and grow flowers for our future pollinator bed!

🦅Thank you for joining us for a night of STEM! We had such a great turnout of students, families, and previous Spalding students. Thank you to teachers and community members for making it a memorable experience!

🦅🥞March 2-6 is National School Breakfast Week. Kids, come eat!

🦅🧤 Lost & Found will be donated after school Friday, February 28.
