Meal Changes for 2022-2023 School Year

In an effort to keep West Ada families informed, there are upcoming changes to school meals during the 2022-2023 school year.

The federal USDA waiver that allowed school districts to provide lunches at no cost to students expired on June 30, 2022. Families who do not apply/qualify for free or reduced meals can expect to resume paying full price for meals in the 2022-2023 school year.

Applications for free or reduced meals for the 2022-2023 school year are now available; apply here. If approved, free or reduced meals will go into effect on the day the application was received. Applications are NOT retroactive.

As the new school year begins, make sure to let parents and student guardians know of the changes to the federal meal waivers by sharing this short SNA-developed video, available in both English and Spanish. This crucial information will allow families to plan ahead, explore and apply for assistance. Please refer to videos below for more information

Menus

*** The Titan Mobile App is currently not reflecting current menus. Titan is aware of the issue and is working on it. ***

Our Mission:

Provide students, patrons, and staff, healthy and appealing meals in a friendly, consistent, and efficient manner.

We provide healthy meals each day to students at 57 sites and employ over 200 staff members. Our nutrition program allows us to provide healthy breakfast and lunch to students in the West Ada School District

We offer After School Snack Program at Crossroads Middle School. This program is a federally assisted snack service that fills the afternoon hunger gap for school children in an afterschool program. It is regularly scheduled with activities in a structured and supervised environment, including an educational or enrichment activity.

On site meal preparation ensures that meals are served in compliance with federal, state and local health department regulations. All menus adhere to the USDA guidelines.

Meal Cost Guidelines

Each student and employee in the West Ada School District is set up with an account in the School Nutrition Services system. A student or employee identification number is used to access the account to purchase either breakfast or lunch.

This is a prepayment system that allows any amount of money to be placed on the account. Students that will be returning to the school district may leave positive balances on their accounts for use the next year.

REFUNDS: Seniors or students moving out of the district may request a refund by contacting the School Nutrition Services office at (208)855-4575.
