Driver's Education

Course Information

All sessions will have online, asynchronous class. This allows students to work in their chosen time frame. One class will need to be completed every two days. Online, asynchronous classes are held on West Ada's Microsoft Teams platform.

  • Asynchronous classes will consist of two class sessions per week

  • Attendance is required on Monday or Tuesday, and on Wednesday or Thursday

    • Exceptions will be made for scheduled "No School Days" during the week; classes will resume the remaining four days of the week

  • Students must go online between the hours of 2:00pm - 9:00pm and must complete a 1.5 hour lesson session each day, twice a week

  • Students will need access to the West Ada Microsoft Teams platform every day for their class instructions

Driving will be held at the following schools: Centennial High School, Eagle High School, Meridian High School, Mountain View High School, and Rocky Mountain High School. Students may register for the site of their choice and will need to be able to meet at their chosen site for the driving portion of the program.

Currently, there is no driving portion of the program at Owyhee High School, but we are working on adding an onsite program to OHS in the future.

The course is approximately eight weeks long. Two days of asynchronous, online class, and one day of driving. There will be no online classes held over school breaks. However, students may be asked if they are available to drive during school breaks.

The West Ada School District Driver's Education program is taught by certified instructors, utilizes a state-approved curriculum, uses inspected and safety-equipped vehicles, and provides insurance coverage while students are in the program.
