APPROVED on February 09, 2026

With the opening of Independence Elementary School in the 2026–2027 school year, West Ada School District is adjusting attendance boundaries to balance enrollment and support continued student growth across schools. The West Ada Board of Trustees voted unanimously at Monday, February 9th's Regular Board Meeting to approve new zones for the upcoming school year.

A parent-and patron-led planning committee began meeting in September to develop the proposed changes. The district also conducted a survey and held three town hall meetings to gather public input. After each round of feedback, the planning committee reviewed community comments and revised the proposal.

Ultimately, the Board of Trustees approved the third iteration of the attendance zone proposal, which allows students entering 5th, 8th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade to be grandfathered into their current school. The number of students impacted is projected to be 574.
