Text on image: MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE TEXTBOOK ADOPTION COMMITTEE - Parents needed!

Help choose the new middle school science textbook that will be used starting Fall 2026. This new resource will be central to helping our science teachers engage students in high-quality learning.

Parents and teachers will work together to review and evaluate resources, narrow options to two finalists for public review, and make a recommendation to the School Board (per District Policy 602.30 and 602.30-AR(1)). Review and evaluation will occur during meetings, so parent volunteers need to be able to commit to all the dates.

When/Where: In-person meetings at the District Service Center from 6:30pm-8:30pm on the following dates:

  • Tue Jan 20th – introduction meeting & finalize rubric

  • Tue Feb 3rd – review 3 resources

  • Tue Feb 17th – review 3 resources

  • Tue Mar 3rd – narrow it down to top 2

  • Tue Mar 24th – deep dive into resource 1 with the publisher

  • Finalists on display for public comment Mar 30th – Apr 10th

  • Tue Mar 31st – deep dive resource 2 with the publisher

  • Tue April 14th – final discussion and decision

  • Mon April 27th – Recommend to school board for approval

We need at least 15 parents. If you’re interested, please complete this 🔗brief survey.
