Chief Joseph Elementary honored veterans in a special way this year, thanks to our music teacher, Mrs. Pratt. Students and staff sent in photos of veterans in their lives and Mrs. Pratt created this beautiful honor wall in our gymnasium. Thank you, Veterans!

Dr. Bub joined in on the fun, serving our CJE students their breakfast on Thursday morning. Tonight is CJE Night at Lowe Family Farmstead! Here's what you need to know:
-Admission to the event runs from 4pm to 8pm, with the farm closing at 9pm.
-If you mention that you're with Chief Jo, you will get a discounted admission of $10/person, AND $1 comes back to the school!
-Your ticket gets you into most attractions, but there are a few that cost extra.
-Farm-fresh food and drinks are available to purchase, but you are welcome to bring in outside food and drink (except alcohol).

The Book Fair is coming! Be sure to check out the Book Fair in the school library from October 24th - October 28th and pick up some new books to read! The PTO fun run was a success! Thanks to all of our volunteers who made this possible! Due to the afternoon rain, our 1st and 4th graders will complete their Fun Run next Wednesday, September 28th. If you have any pictures from the run you'd like to share, visit our school's Facebook page.

Girls on the Run, an after-school program for our 3rd-5th graders, begins today! The participants will learn critical life skills (like conflict resolution, self-confidence, and empathy) over the next 8 weeks while training to complete the GOTR Treasure Valley 5k in November! Big thanks to our volunteer coaches - Mrs. Archuleta, Mrs. Hall, and Mrs. Marquart. Here's to a great season!
This week we started lap attacks for participating students. Kids can run or walk laps at lunch recess to earn lap attack miles to stay healthy and progress to 60 minutes of daily exercise. Be sure to ask your kid(s) if they earned a lap attack mark this week!
Westy, Is West Ada’s school districts school nutrition mascot… he loves fruits and veggies and making sure every student eats their lunch. He was at Desert Sage this week enjoying whole grain chicken nuggets, baked french fries, fresh apples and 1%milk.

For those families interested in or in need of transportation (bussing) 🚌 for the 2022-23 school year, the transportation form MUST be submitted in PowerSchool no later than Friday, August 12 to secure bussing for the first day of school.
After August 12, families will have to wait until September 12 to receive a bus route and transportation information for their child(ren).
We thank you for your assistance and cooperation in this matter to ensure that all bussing runs smoothly and effectively for the start of the school year.
At this time, families who have already completed the transportation form in PowerSchool are receiving route information in PowerSchool on average, in 3-5 days.
Please make every effort to take care of this in a timely manner, should it apply to you and your family.

Dylan Reynolds, Rocky Mountain High School Class of 2022 is #westadaready. Dylan will be attending the US Military Academy at West Point after graduation with aspirations of serving active duty in the ARMY and then going in to law enforcement. Dylan is #westadaready for his future!!!
