Donuts with Grown Ups was a HUGE success! Our Amazing PTO always supports our school and community in the biggest way! They served over 650 donuts this morning. 5th Grade had a blast on their field trip to the Capitol.
This week, 5th grade participated in their wax museum. Each student was the part of a famous person from American History.




First grade is in their U.S. Symbols era.
Star Second Graders went to Lake Lowell on Wednesday to learn about the history of the first people to the area. Students also learned about the aquatic creatures that live there and studied water quality. Activities included practicing archery, observing water samples, and throwing the atl-atl to mimic hunting bison. They all enjoyed a fun picnic in the park before returning to school.
Fourth Graders at Star Elementary showed their appreciation for Star Police with thank you cards and goodie bags.
This weekend the district honored Michelle Buckert for Classified Employee of the Year and Kristen Gaeta for Teacher of the Year. We truly have the best staff!
On Tuesday, April 30th, the procession for Ada County Sheriff’s Deputy Tobin Bolter will pass through Star on its way to the memorial service at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa. During this time, from approximately 12:30 to 14:30, businesses and residents whose only access is from State Street or Star Road will experience restricted access.
Third grade had fun learning and practicing bike safety on the roads at our annual Bike Rodeo.

Our Coin Drive will be happening the week after spring break. From March 25-29 students can bring in coins and dollars to benefit The WAEA Children's Fund. Winning grade will get a popcorn party!
Today we got to celebrate our own Paxton! Star Elementary's Paxton Mayer was recently diagnosed with a rare, degenerative brain condition called Leukodystrophy. Surrounded by his family, friends, and loved ones and presented by a real 49er and thanks to The Dream Factory, including some Star's own teachers, Paxton will get to go on a trip to Disney World!
