Meet our wonderful School Counselor, Emma Kennedy.
My name is Emma Kennedy. This is my 3rd year as an Elementary School Counselor and my 1st year at Star Elementary. I feel so lucky to work with the wonderful teachers and staff here at Star. The thing I love most about being a school counselor is that I get to help children. Being able to help students through big emotions and support them at school brings me so much joy. My hope is that all students feel safe and valued at our school.
I love all different types of foods, but I think my favorite is Mexican food. I love reading! I recently got a Kindle and I have been enjoying it. I like mystery, suspense, romance, biography, memoirs, and self-help books. I also really enjoy listening to podcasts. In my free time, I love spending time in the mountains, hiking, riding side by sides, paddle boarding, and going to concerts.

The City of Star, Star Police, and Star SRO are teaming up for this FREE Parenting Class! Register today using the link.

It is National School Board Appreciation Month.
What is a School Board?
The local control of public education is one of the cornerstones of a free society. The School Board Trustees are your elected representatives. They establish the policies that govern the school district and appoint the District Superintendent. Individual members have no authority to act on their own. Instead, Board action is made during formal sessions. They receive no salaries or benefits.
We thank all our Board Members who represent the 5 Zones within our District.
A special THANK YOU to our Zone 4 Representative, David Binetti.
You may attend the Monthly Board meetings in person or watch virtually. Information about the monthly meetings can be found on our District homepage at "Board of Trustees" link.
