Mrs. Hernandez, a fourth-grade teacher at Spalding STEM Academy, was given a grant today from the West Ada Education Foundation. We are celebrating! Some Spalding STEM Staff have unique summer plans! *Congratulations to third-grade teachers: Mrs. Bond, Mrs. Huffman, Ms. Egbert, and Mrs. Hunt. They have been awarded Scholarships to travel to Virginia to learn more about our Country’s Virginia Presidents, Visit Mt. Vernon, Monticello, Montpelier, and more! *Mrs. Roderick, our Computer Specialist, has been selected to be an instructor for i-STEM 2025 at Lewis and Clark State College in Lewiston
This week at Spalding STEM: 1) READ Week is THIS week! Monday- wear a hat, Tuesday- wear green, Wednesday- no school, Thursday- wear a shirt with a destination on it, Friday-pajama day. 2) Wednesday, March 5 is a Professional Development Day for staff- there is no school. 3) We are in the lead for elementary schools in the West Ada Hoops for Hunger campaign. 4) We are hiring- check out the West Ada website for more information. Spalding STEM is looking for volunteers to help with the Book Fair! Our Book Fair theme this year is, Space: To the Book Fair and Beyond. I am having students help me with the decorations and will be starting to decorate on Tuesday, February 11. There are also time slots to sign up for during the book fair where you will be assisting students as they come during their normal library special. They will be looking at the books, making a wish list (younger kids will need help writing) and some will help run the register if they purchase something. Finally, there are some time slots assigned to help to set up and take down the fair.
