🎵 Mrs. Richardson received supplies to support our growing music classes, including 5-gallon buckets, wooden dowels for drumsticks, and noise-canceling headphones.
🤖 Ms. Wohler received additional Ozobots and Dash Robots to support our growing STEM classes.
🧲 Mrs. McNamara received STEM materials to support 2nd-grade geometry, including whiteboards and magnetic blocks.
💃 Mrs. Gilder received Bouncy Bands Wiggle Feet to support sensory movement in the classroom.
🎸 Ms. Slater received additional ukuleles so more fifth-grade students can participate in the special tradition of learning to play an instrument.

🔬 STEM Night was a huge success! 🏃♀️🎉 Our Track-o-Thon was a huge success! Students had a fantastic time running, walking, and cheering each other on while helping raise money for our school. Thanks to the generosity and support of our families and community, we raised funds that will go toward updating the sound system in our gym. 🎤🔊 A big thank-you to everyone who participated, donated, and helped make this event such a fun and successful day for our school! 💙

This week Summerwind STEM celebrated Healthy Living Week! We had a variety of dress up days, including Twin/Multiple Day! Dressing up reminds us our Healthy Friendships. Students were also given Powerbucks to hand out to other students showing the 3 R's.

Meet Mrs. Handley, our new DOSA (Dean of Student Achievement). She will be with us at Summerwind on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Here is a little bit about her:
Mrs. Handley was born and raised in Idaho and has dedicated the past 15 years to education as a school counselor, supporting students and families while helping create positive school communities. Throughout her career, she has worked at Linder Elementary School and Barbara Morgan STEM Academy and had the exciting opportunity to help open Willow Creek Elementary School. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, ages 15, 13, and 11, supporting them in all of their activities and adventures. She is so excited to join the Summerwind team this year and is looking forward to working with everyone to support the students and families of Summerwind.
