Our VMS Extravaganza which will be held on Friday, October 27! Submission forms are available in the cafeteria for showcase and performance categories. Forms must be turned in to the front office WITH PARENT SIGNATURE by Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 3:15PM to be considered for participation. Auditions for performance acts will be held after school Thursday September 28 and Friday September 29. Students may request an audition time slot on those days on their submission form. Chess Club is THURSDAYS during ALL three lunches! Please make sure to please eat in the cafeteria the first ten minutes of lunch. Then, if you are a sixth grader, you will be going to Mr. Rethy's room 108 to play chess. 6th graders, please do make sure to pick up a pass during break from Mr. Rethy on the day of chess club. If you are a 7th grader, Mrs. Shalz will meet you with boards in the cafeteria and you will be able to just stay in the cafeteria and play. If you are an 8th grader, Ms. Cornell will meet you with the boards in the cafeteria and you will be able to just stay in the cafeteria and play.. If you do not know how to play, all three teachers are able to teach you, so you are not required to know chess to join Chess Club. This year we hope to crown a Chess Queen and Chess King for each grade level by the end of the year! Will it be you? We also will consider hosting advisory representatives playing against each other during Chess Club. Talk to Mr. Rethy, Mrs. Shalz or Ms. Cornell for more information.
