🚒🔥 Fire Safety Fun with Boise Fire Department’s Engine 9! 🔥🚒 Our first graders had an exciting visit from the amazing firefighters of Boise Fire Department's Engine 9! 🚨 They learned all about fire safety, explored the fire truck, and even got to see some of the important equipment up close. A big thank you to our local heroes for teaching our students how to stay safe! 👩‍🚒👨‍🚒

West Ada School District has partnered with the Idaho Diaper Bank to ensure kids in need have access to diapers. you can help by donating new diapers sizes 4, 5, 6, and Pull-Ups at any drop-off location or send them through Amazon Registry by searching "West Ada Community School Diaper Drive" on Amazon's gift registry. Drop-off locations include: West Ada District Office, Desert Sage Elementary, McMillian Elementary, Meridian Elementary, Peregrine Elementary, and Meridian Middle School.

🤝 Building Strong Connections at Frontier! 🤝 At Frontier, part of our mission is to foster positive relationships among our students. One way we're achieving that is by pairing up students across different grade levels to work on fun and meaningful projects throughout the year. This past week, our third graders teamed up with kinder kids for a special reading session, while our 4th and 1st graders collaborated on a fall-themed art project and a "getting to know you" activity. We’re excited to see these friendships grow! 🍂📚🎨

🦴 Exploring Science Through Art! 🦴 Mrs. Dutcher's class took their new knowledge from the human body science unit and brought it to life—by creating amazing skeleton art! 🎨💀 The students learned all about the bones that keep our bodies moving and used their creativity to show off what they've discovered. We’re so proud of their hard work and imagination! 🧠🖌️

Mrs. Clark's 5th graders had a blast this week discovering the amazing job earthworms do for our soil! 🌱🪱 During their "Ask a Worm" experiment, they observed real earthworms and created their own tests to find out if worms like dry or wet areas. The students learned how to design a fair experiment and explored some cool new questions about worm behavior. Science is so much fun when you get hands-on! 👩‍🔬🧑‍🔬

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ Mr. Thompson and our students kicked off Marathon Kids this week! 🏅 Each lap around "The Concrete River" gets them one step closer to their marathon goals. With every run or walk, students scan their badges to track their progress. Keep up the great work, kids! 💪

☀️📚 The calendar says fall, but the weather still says summer! Mrs. Reese's 5th graders made the most of the sunshine today by enjoying some outdoor reading time. Nothing beats a good book in the fresh air! 🌳🍂

Parenting Classes at Frontier Elementary! We're excited to announce that our amazing School Counselor, Mrs. Buffington, will be offering "Parenting the Love and Logic Way" classes for parents and caregivers! 💡👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 📅 When: Mondays from 6-8 PM, October 14 - November 18 📍 Where: Frontier Elementary 💵 Cost: Free! 🚫 Please note: Children should not attend these sessions. Mrs. Jermann's 4th graders have been diving deep into learning about the human body, vision, and the brain! 🧬 Recently, they created a "human finger" model to see firsthand how muscles and tendons work together to allow our joints to bend. 🖐️ They also crafted an eye model to understand how the cornea and lens function, giving them a fascinating look at how our eyes help us see the world! 👁️

While you're not in a classroom session, head to the gym to find information about PowerSchool, Frontier’s outside programs, grading, and more.
